The upcoming shooter game Insurgency: Sandstorm will be getting its last beta event this weekend. During the open beta players will be able to try out the game free of charge.
The game was supposed to release in September but was delayed when a significant amount of players reported performance issues. Since then, the studio has been working on resolving issues, with mostly positive outcomes.
Last month, the studio released a major update for the game, bumping the engine version up to 4.20 to help with performance issues and to make it easier to port the game to consoles next year.
A new update will be released tomorrow containing additional performance improvements, bugfixes, and new content, including the new map Precinct that was announced last month but was pulled from the latest update at the last minute.
The open beta test will start on Friday, December 7, 2018, and ends on Monday, December 10, 2018.
Insurgency: Sandstorm is scheduled to release on December 12, 2018. Those who prepurchase the game can already start playing today.
