Development studio New World Interactive has released the November update for its shooter game Insurgency: Sandstorm. The update was announced last month.
The new update features several major changes compared to the previous pre-purchase build, including migration to Unreal Engine 4.20, community dedicated servers and an improved server browser.
The new Precinct map that was teased before the release of the update was not included because the studio noticed "several issues" that were causing the map to "underperform".
Instead of the new Precinct map, the update reintroduces the Refinery map. This map was already available during alpha tests and is now available publicly.
In addition, the update features new anti-aliasing and other additional graphical settings, low scope quality improvements, improvements to character animation and movement, various balance improvements and "a series of new optimizations to push frame rates higher and reduce micro-stuttering".
The game was supposed to release in September but was delayed when a significant amount of players reported performance issues.
Insurgency: Sandstorm is scheduled to release on December 12, 2018. Those who prepurchase the game can already play the open beta.
