Ubisoft Nadeo has announced it is working on a remake of Trackmania Nations (2006). The original racing game is still popular within the esports racing community and is still played daily.
According to the announcement, the new game will build upon the foundation of the original game. It will include official season campaigns and daily track selections and track-creation options featuring new surfaces and special blocks.

The game will stay true to the original by building upon the simplistic four-arrow-key racing players expect and an easy respawn system, while combining it with new gameplay mechanics and improvements.
The track editor will also be getting a substantial update by "increasing the amount of possibilities for creation". Players will find more physical surfaces and new special blocks to modify car behavior and even toggle new special effects such as slow motion to spice up races.
After the release of the game, the development team is also planning to release seasonal updates. These updates will contain official campaigns, daily track selection, and seasonal blocks and features.
Trackmania (2020) releases on May 5, 2020, for PC. A console release was not announced.
