The development team behind the popular Half-Life remake Black Mesa has officially released the missing Xen chapters. The chapters were available in beta testing for several months.

The release of the Xen chapters means the popular remake of the original Half-Life now has all chapters available to play through. Those who have played in the past will have noticed the story stopped on the 14th chapter Lambda Core.

The Xen update now introduces all missing chapters, including Xen, Gonarch’s Lair and Interloper. The development team notes that "If you have been holding out for Xen, this is what you have been waiting for."

In addition to the missing chapters, the update also brings a list of improvements and bug fixes, mostly to the Xen chapters that were already available on the game's testing branch.

Now that the game has all story chapters available, the team will continue to work towards the game's 1.0 release out of Early Access. Most notably, it will work on multiplayer updates, AI updates and Steam Workshop updates. It will also release a new set of achievements for the Xen chapters.

The Black Mesa Xen update is available now through Steam. The game is currently having a 20% off sale ending on January 2, 2020.
