Indie development studio New World Interactive has released its Operation: Cold Blood update for Insurgency: Sandstorm. The update introduces the new snow map Bab to the game.

In Bab, players fight their way through a village, down snowy hills, over a frozen river, and up to the gates of an ancient fortress. This map differs from other maps by being more supportive of long-range combat and open layout play, but still has plenty of points for medium to close range engagements. The new map is only available in the versus and co-op modes.

With the new update the game also receives two new weapons: the M110 SASS for Security and the M1 Garand for Insurgents. Both weapons support Optic, Underbarrel, Barrel, and other upgrades, including an 22mm muzzle-loaded grenade launcher for the M1 Garand. The two weapons are also available in Competitive via the Security and Insurgent Assaulter classes.

Last but not least, the update also brings a long list of game fixes, improvements to performance on the maps Hideout, Farmhouse, Precinct, Crossing, and various new free and paid cosmetics.
