ArenaNet has announced that the next Living World update for the MMORPG game Guild Wars 2 will be released on May 2nd 2017. The new update will contain the fifth episode of the third Living World season.
The new Living World episode will continue the story of the previous episode in which players made their way to Lake Doric, which is located right of Divinity's Reach.
In the fifth episode of the the third Living World season players will discover the true identity of Lazarus the Dire, the "last" surviving mursaat.
After being revived and empowered by the exploding Maguuma Bloodstone, Lazarus has chosen to focus his efforts on fighting the Elder Dragons rather than follow Confessor Caudecus's plans to take over Kryta. To achieve his ends, Lazarus aims to join forces with the Pact Commander and Dragon's Watch.
What other content is included in the upcoming update is still under wraps, but the new trailer does indicate that the current Living World season will only feature two more episodes.
The second season of Guild Wars 2's Living World storyline ended with the announcement of the game's first expansion pack Heart of Thorns that was released in 2015. Whether this season will end in a similar fashion is still unknown.
The Guild Wars 2 Living World Season 3 Episode 5 update will be released on May 2nd 2017 and will be available free of charge for those who unlock the content before the release of the sixth episode.
