Development studio ArenaNet has introduced the first purchasable mount skins with the Halloween event patch that was released last Tuesday. The Shadow of the Mad King event lasts until November 8, 2017.
The new purchasable mount skins are themed around the annual return of the Shadow of the Mad King Halloween event and are available via the game's gem store.
The Halloween event was first released in 2012 after the game launched in August of that same year. The content was eventually re-released in 2015 as annual event and has since been a recurring one with little to no changes.
The new Spooky mount skins are only available in a pack and currently costs 1,600 gems while it is on sale. The default price of the skin pack is 2,000 gems.
As usual, the pack is purchasable by converting in-game gold to gems or by purchasing gems with real currency.
When purchased, the new mount skins tab in the hero panel allows players to select the Halloween skins for each of the unlocked mounts, including the fifth hidden Griffon mount, just like how the mount skins function was expected to work.
Mounts were introduced with the game's second expansion pack Path of Fire. In our review of the expansion pack we gave it an 8 out of 10 score praising its storytelling and its new gameplay mechanics.
