HTC may be announcing a new version of its HTC Vive virtual reality headset. It is rumored to be named HTC Vive Pro.
According to a leaked press release, the new HTC Vive Pro virtual reality headset will feature two OLED displays that are capable of displaying 2880 x 1600 pixel images spread over both eyes.
With the new OLED displays the HTC Vive Pro will be on par with HTC's standalone Vive Focus headset that was revealed last year. The original HTC Vive headset features a display that is capable of displaying just 2160 x 1200 pixel images.
The HTC Vive Pro will also incorporate speakers similarly to the way they are implemented in headsets from competitor Oculus Rift.
In addition to the new headset, HTC is also expected to announce a new wireless adapter that will support both the HTC Vive and HTC Vive Pro headsets.
The wireless adapter is expected to use Intel's WiGig technology and is expected to perform similarly to TPCast's solution that we saw last year.
