HTC has announced that it has changed the advised retail price for the HTC Vive virtual reality headset. The price of the headset dropped from $799 USD to $599 USD.

According to HTC, the price cut will make the virtual reality headset more appealing to customers and businesses that are currently looking to enter the virtual reality market.

The price cut comes a month after Oculus announced a similar price cut for its Oculus Rift headset, which currently costs $499 USD.

Players who purchase the HTC Vive headset bundle will also get a free trial of Viveport Subscription, which allows them to play up to five titles per month free of charge.
