The Guild Wars 2 Lunar New Year event has returned with minor pieces of new content, development studio ArenaNet announced earlier this week.

Lunar New Year is an annual event in the game to celebrate the Canthan new year and is held in the Crown Pavilion in Divinity's Reach. The event was first introduced with the standalone Guild Wars Factions expansion pack, which released for the original game in 2006.

During the event players can earn or purchase Lucky Envelopes for a chance to win coin, luck, or special items. In addition, players can participate in the Dragon Ball minigame that is accessible via the festivity area.

This edition features several minor pieces of new content, including the Exalted Shoulders Skin and Staff of Fortune, both of which are only available via the Gem Store and, thus, can not be unlocked through normal gameplay.

The Lunar New Year event will be available until February 12, 2019.
