A new update for the MMORPG game Guild Wars 2 has introduced chair sitting functionality to the game. Up until now players were unable to make use of the chairs scattered across the continent.

The new feature was introduced to celebrate April Fools' Day in combination with a humorous developer diary video in which developers discuss the serious business that is chair sitting.

Being able to use chairs in the game has long been one of the player's most requested features since the game released in 2012.

With the new update players are able to make use of over 1,400 chairs scattered around the continent of Tyria of which most can be found in major cities and guild halls.

In addition, players are able to complete the new Chairs of the World achievement for which they have to sit on every chair available. The achievement will earn them the Armchair Commander title.

The development studio has already confirmed that the functionality will remain available after April Fools' Day.
