Indie development studio New World Interactive has released a new update for its shooter game Insurgency. The update adds 64 bit support and anti-cheat improvements.

The new Insurgency update that went live earlier today introduces native 64 bit support. This means the game will no longer be bound to the 32 bit RAM limit of 4 gigabytes.

All modern operating systems support native 64 bit applications and have fallback functionality for 32 bit ones. This change will ensure that the game is ready for these modern systems.

In addition, the new update introduces improvements to the game's BattlEye anti-cheat functionality and installing the service is now required to join official co-op servers.

The update also includes a number of smaller tweaks, such as updated localization, lowering the resupply grace timer to 30 seconds, and a delay to many radial commands to prevent spam.

Development studio New World Interactive is currently also working on the game's sequel Insurgency: Sandstorm. The game is expected to release in the fall of 2018.
