Bethesda has sent out invitations for the first closed beta test for Quake Champions. The closed beta test was announced last month.

The initial closed beta test will only be accessible to a small number of people. More players will be invited to participate as the beta phase progresses. During the closed beta test players will get access to the first hero and the map Blood Covenant.

According to the invitation, the closed beta test will run for 4 days as it starts on April 6th 2017 at 10:00AM EDT and ends on April 9th 2017 at 16:00PM EDT.

The invitation further states that Bethesda has "spent the last months polishing the game" and that it has now "reached a point where we need your skill and feedback."

Participation in the game's first closed beta test is subject to the confidentiality provisions of the Beta Agreement that players will have to agree to. The agreement states that players are not allowed to stream, capture video, or discuss the game outside of a special closed beta forum.

Just like previous titles in the Quake franchise, Quake Champions will be a fast-paced first person shooter and players will have to pick up weapons from predefined weapon spawn locations. There will be no limit on how many weapons a player can carry and the game will not feature character loadouts.

Bethesda and id Software hope to turn the game into a popular e-sport game. The two companies are expected to host Quake Champions tournaments when the game officially launches later this year.
