Bethesda has released a new trailer for the Duel Mode included in Quake Champions. The mode is one at least five game modes that will be included in the game.
The new game mode is a 1 vs 1 showdown mode where two players battle against each other in a best-of-three match. The mode is similar to other 1 vs 1 modes included in other e-sport titles.
At the beginning of the match players will select three Champions in a snake-style draft before heading to the Arenas. In choosing their roster, players will have to consider which Champions are better suited to their unique playstyle and which are effective counters to their opponents' choices.
Featuring Champions in the Duel Mode means that the game is not just based on skill, but also on choosing which Champions best counters the unique abilities of the enemy's Champions, effectively making the mode a lot less attractive for e-sport tournaments.
In Duel Mode players go head to head in a total of three rounds, and in each round, a player has to defeat all three of the opponent's Champions. When a player is fragged, they will respawn as another of their chosen Champions. When one player has eliminated all three of the opposing Champions, a winner for that round is declared.
Quake Champions is expected to launch later this year.

This comment has been removed. This whole champion character thing is going to kill the franchise some day. What a horrible mistake.
