Bethesda has released a first gameplay trailer for Quake Champions. The trailer was shown at Bethesda's QuakeCon, which is currently taking place in Dallas, Texas, USA.
According to the QuakeCon presentation Quake Champions will be a fast-paced first person shooter. Just like previous titles in the Quake franchise, players will have to pick up weapons from predefined weapon spawn locations and there will be no limit on how many weapons a player can carry. The game will not feature character loadouts.
Bethesda and id Software hope to turn the game into a popular e-sport game. The two companies are expected to host Quake related tournaments when the game launches.
The game is expected to launch in the summer of 2017 exclusively for PC. Open beta tests are expected to start in March of 2017 though that has not yet been confirmed.
