The PUBG Vikendi Moonlight night mode that was introduced via the game's PC test servers is now available on live servers after a week of testing. The new weather setting brings night mode to the game's latest map Vikendi.
According to the announcement, the update introduces the long-awaited Moonlight weather setting to the game. The weather setting is currently only available on the Vikendi snow map.
Although the weather setting makes environments darker, the big glowing super moon and bright aurora borealis effect is said to help players detect enemies.
In addition to the new weather setting, the update also introduces the new Canted Sight weapon attachment to allow players to utilize a secondary scope slot on certain weapons, and the new Bizon sub-machine gun weapon.
The new vehicle snowbike, which was supposed to replace the motorcycle on Vikendi, will not be added to the game with this update due to physics issues. It will be added with an upcoming update at a later date.
How to play Vikendi night mode?
The Vikendi night mode is randomly available and can not be selected before matchmaking. If you don't see night mode activated as soon as you are spawned and waiting for the match countdown to end it means your current Vikendi match will not be running night mode. Go back to the game's lobby to restart matchmaking and try your luck again.
