Indie development studio FunnerSoft has announced its upcoming virtual reality game PlanTechtor. In the game players tackle waves of invading enemies by combining strategic planning with VR weapon combat.
Each level in the game starts with a pre-game phase where the player is given quests that provide some hints about the invading forces. It is in the player's hands to come up with a plan to prevent them from destroying the player's castle.
Weapon loadouts are said to be a big part of the initial planning phase as designing the perfect loadout is instrumental in securing victory.
The game features a variety of weapons to choose from and some of these weapons are better suited against specific types of enemies.
The game is said to be inspired by titles that allow players to create unique combinations to power unique ways to play, such as Diablo and Hearthstone.
The game is currently being developed by Lester Bloom and Isaiah Cartwright. Bloom recently left ArenaNet and founded FunnerSoft. Cartwright is currently the design director for the popular MMORPG game Guild Wars 2.
PlanTechtor is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2019 and supports both the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets.
