Square Enix has released a new trailer for the 20 Year Celebration edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider. The trailer shows the new story chapter Blood Ties that was announced last month.
The 20 Year Celebration edition features the new story chapter Blood Ties. The new chapter has players explore Croft Manor in the main story mode, then defend it against a zombie invasion in Lara’s Nightmare.
The special edition of the game also features co-op multiplayer for the game's Endurance Mode. The co-op experience lets fans raid tombs in a brutal wilderness together.
In the co-op mode two players must team up to survive the harsh elements by day, as well as lethal threats from enemies by night. Fire takes fuel, food restores health, and every resource must be hunted, collected, or crafted. Battle to the top of the leaderboards, as others try to beat your longest survival run.
Square Enix also notes that developer Crystal Dynamics is still optimizing the game for consoles. The publisher says that it is aiming for a 1080p resolution experience at a minimum of 30 frames per second. The PC version of the game will run at atleast 60 frames per second.
The virtual reality support that was announced last month is only available via PlayStation VR and only works with the new Blood Ties story chapter.
Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration edition launches on October 11th 2016 for PC and PlayStation 4. The new content will also be available via an upgrade pack for PC and Xbox One.
