Indie development studio New World Interactive has launched the first beta test for Insurgency: Sandstorm. The beta test takes place between August 9, 2018 and August 13, 2018.
It is the first time that players are able to play the game on their own machine to test out the game before its September release.
Although this is only the first beta test, gamers are already reporting frame rate issues on the Steam Community, with some going as far as to claim they have refunded the game for it.
According to a recent statement, the studio will be working on bugfixes and optimization until the game's September release and beyond, but a portion of the players find it unlikely that these issues will be remedied within the next month.
During the first beta test players will be able to try out three maps from the final release build. Each is a complex maze of brutal interiors, deadly sniping lanes, and wide-open battlefields.
The four game modes: Firefight, Push, Checkpoint, and Skirmish each change the accessible part of the map, drastically altering the available strategies.
Insurgency: Sandstorm releases on September 18, 2018, for PC and next year for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
