Rockstar Games has just recently announced that Grand Theft Auto V has now officially gone gold and the process of pressing the discs is well underway. For those who don't know, "Gold" status is given to a product when it comes out of betatesting and is ready for mass production.
Rockstar Games added that they are deeply disappointed by the recent leaks and spoilers and yet again refered to all the passionate and hard work that went into the developing of the title with people involved globally.

"Were pleased to confirm that Grand Theft Auto V has officially gone gold and were now preparing the game for release on September 17th for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Unfortunately, as many of you may already know, some people who downloaded the digital pre-order of Grand Theft Auto V through the PlayStation Store in Europe were able to access certain GTAV assets leading to leaked information and media from the game appearing online.Furthermore they added that any further discussion about the spoilers or other preload material on their official website will result in a temporary ban. Grand Theft Auto V is due September 17. The remaining time to launch will mainly be used for marketing purposes.
