Development studio Bluehole has announced it has banned over 100,000 players from the popular battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. The ban wave comes after the studio analysed data.
According to a recent blog post, the studio banned over 100,000 players after it ran data analysis on gameplay data and "tens of millions of data logs". Though its data analysis it was able to identify new patterns related to the use of cheats.
The studio did not comment on how it acquires data logs and what data it fetches from machines during gameplay, but did note that it will continue to collect data and analyse logs as part of their anti-cheat measures.
In addition, the studio claims it will be working with local authorities "in some countries" to take legal action against developers and distributors of cheats. How the studio plans to do this and what legal measures it is actually able to use is unknown.
