Blizzard Entertainment has released a trailer for a new Overwatch map called Eichenwalde. The map will be added to the game free of charge later this year.

In the world of Overwatch the new Eichenwalde map is set on the outskirts of Stuttgart, Germany, in an abandoned village. The map features both assault and escort gameplay elements, with the history of the map setting the stage for the game type.

In the new map one team must escort a battering ram to Eichenwalde Castle to reclaim his remains from their resting place, while the opposing team does everything they can to thwart their attempts.

Eichenwalde features an enormous castle in an idyllic landscape. The map has more verticality incorporated into its design and as such will help in further improving the overall Overwatch experience.

Blizzard has not yet given a release date for the new map but it is expected to be released later this year.
