With the release of a new patch for Watch Dogs 2 the Seamless Multiplayer functionality that was announced before the launch of the game is finally working.
The new game updates that are available for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game allow players to seamlessly connect to other player's worlds.
After the launch of the game a Ubisoft representative stated that during the game's "pre-launch phase" the development team discovered "an issue tied to the seamless multiplayer feature that caused the game to lag and crash periodically."
Because of the issues the game developer chose to release the game with the functionality disabled to "make sure that it doesn't impact the core gameplay experience."
Before the recent update players were already able to play the full singleplayer campaign normally. In addition, the co-op multiplayer functionality was unaffected.
The PC version of the game launches on November 29th and is not expected to suffer from the same issues.
