The Nintendo Switch may be chargeable with USB type C cables. That can be deduced from a listing for Nintendo Switch power cables that appeared on the website of an Australian retailer. The listing was removed shortly after.

The Australian retailer listed the item titled "Nintendo Switch Extra-Long 3M Charging Cable" on its website earlier this week and was promptly taken offline minutes later.

The existence of the cable is interesting because Nintendo has always used propriety inputs, cables and chargers for its previous consoles.

If the console will make use of USB type C cables gamers will be able to power the handheld console with the same cable and charger that is included with modern smartphones.

Yesterday we reported on rumours that indicate that the Nintendo Switch may ship with GameCube virtual console support, allowing gamers to play GameCube titles on the handheld console.

Nintendo is expected to release more information on the Nintendo Switch at a press conference hosted in January 2017.
