The release of the tactical shooter game Insurgency: Sandstorm has been delayed to December, indie development studio New World Interactive announced earlier today.
According to a recent announcement, the studio has decided to delay the official release of the game following player feedback. The game has seen two open beta tests in the past two months and its second one is still running.
During the open beta tests a significant amount of players experienced frame rate drops and severe stuttering. While the studio has released two large patches in the past weeks, these issues are still not fully mitigated.
The studio states it will use the additional time to improve performance, update the game to Unreal Engine 4.20, improve character, level and scope visuals, and implement a fully-featured server browser.
The second open beta test that started last month will continue to be available as the studio works towards the game's new release date.
Insurgency: Sandstorm will now release on December 12, 2018.
