Blizzard has announced that the remastered edition of the RTS game StarCraft will be launching in August. The game was announced in March.
The new remastered edition will feature the exact same gameplay mechanics as the original version along with various technical enhancements, such as 4K resolution support, updated graphics, updated audio and updated multiplayer functionality.

With the new multiplayer component players will be able to play against opponents from both the original and remastered versions of the game, making both versions of the game completely compatible with each other.
The original version of StarCraft as well as its expansion pack Brood War are already available free of charge.
StarCraft: Remastered launches on August 15, 2017, exclusively for PC.
