Blizzard has announced that it will be releasing a remastered edition of the RTS game StarCraft. The game will be released this summer.
The new remastered edition will feature the exact same gameplay mechanics as the original version along with various technical enhancements, such as 4K resolution support, updated graphics, updated audio and updated multiplayer capabilities.

As a result of the remaster announcement, Blizzard has also announced that it will make the original version of the game available free of charge next month.
With the new multiplayer component players will be able to play against opponents regardless of which version of the game they are playing, effectively making both versions of the game completely compatible with each other.
StarCraft Remastered has not yet been given a specific release date but it is expected to be released this summer.
