Milestone, the Italian development studio behind the upcoming racing game Gravel, has released a new developer diary video for the game. In the video the game's developers discuss some of the technical design choices.

Gravel is said to be the "ultimate" off-road experience, an extreme racing game that will let you pull out amazing stunts in the wildest places on the planet. The game focuses on "pure fun" whilst featuring spectacular scenery and no-holds barred competition in offline and online game modes.

The racing game seems to be a direct competitor to the popular racing game franchises DiRT and GRID, both of which are developed by Codemasters.

The game is being built upon Unreal Engine 4 to power its visuals and features a variety of maps that make good use of the engine's capabilities.

Gravel is expected to launch in early 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
