EA Games has announced it will be shutting down Visceral Games, one of the studios that was part of the EA Games label. The studio was working on an unrevealed Star Wars action adventure game.
In a recent press release, EA Games Executive Vice President of Electronic Arts Robert "Patrick" Söderlund did not give a reason for closing the studio, but did confirm that the publisher is transfering the project to EA Vancouver.
The game's linear story based adventure concepts and designs will be shifted towards a different kind of experience that is said to be "broader" and "leaning into the capabilities of the Frostbite engine".
A new release date has not been announced yet, further indicating that the reimagined version of the title is far from ready.
Developers currently working at Visceral Games are said to be transfered to other projects and teams at EA Games.
Visceral Games was mostly known for its involvement in the development of The Godfather franchise, Dead Space and Battlefield Hardline. The studio was founded in 2001.
