THQ Nordic has acquired publisher Koch Media for 121 million euro, the company confirmed earlier this week. The deal includes Koch Media's Deep Silver development studios.

According to a recent press release, the primary reason for the acquisition seems to be the upcoming titles that several Deep Silver development studios are currently developing, including Metro Exodus.

THQ lost rights to many intellectual properties and trademarks when it was forced to liquidate to handle its bankruptcy in 2012.

Deep Silver owns three development studios: Deep Silver Volition in the United States, Deep Silver Fishlabs in Germany, and Deep Silver Dambuster Studios in the United Kingdom.

The deal not only covers publisher Koch Media and its Deep Silver development studios, it also covers the intellectual property of several popular franchises, including Metro, Dead Island, Saints Row, Risen, Homefront, and Agents of Mayhem.

The move is in line with THQ Nordic's previous acquisition of Biomutant development studio Experiment 101, its intellectual property and its trademarks.
