In a recent announcement Hello Games has confirmed that the release of No Man's Sky has been delayed. The sci-fi adventure game was supposed to release on June 21st but is now set to release on August 9th, seven weeks later than originally planned. We first reported on the delay last thursday, when employees as an American store were instructed to hide the game's original release date on promotion material.
"As we approached our final deadlines, we realised that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special." said Sean Murray, founder of Hello Games, in the announcement.
"We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right." Murray added.
No Man's Sky is now set to release August 9th in the US and August 10th in Europe for PC and Playstation 4.
