The beta test for Fallout 76 will start on October 23rd for the Xbox One. It will be available for PC and PlayStation 4 a week later on October 30th.
Fallout 76 will be an online prequel where every surviving human is an actual person. The shared open world will be roamed by several other players who can either work together or kill each other to survive.
The game can also be played with a friend who can be invited in your shared open world. Specific co-op multiplayer features have yet to be revealed.
In preparation for the beta test, the studio has already begun hosting smaller, timed stress tests. These tests include randomly selected players who are playing under NDA.
On the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 the beta will be accessible via their digital stores. On the PC players will be required to play through Bethesda's own DRM game launcher.
The studio didn't comment on why the Xbox One gets the beta first, but it may be the result of a "strategic partnership" with Microsoft.
Fallout 76 will release on November 14, 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
