Bethesda has announced that the beta test for Fallout 76 will start in October. Players will be randomly selected to gain access.
Fallout 76 will be an online prequel where every surviving human is an actual person. The shared open world will be roamed by several other players who can either work together or kill each other to survive.
The game can also be played with a friend who can be invited in your shared open world. Specific co-op multiplayer features have yet to be revealed.
According to a recent statement, the studio will be selecting people who have pre-ordered the game from participating retailers to enter the beta test. The beta test will start small and grow over time as the game's release date comes closer.
Fallout 76 will release on November 14, 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
