Microsoft has announced it will be working together with Discord to provide Xbox gamers with the ability to link their Discord account. The function will be added in the coming weeks.

Although Discord is primarily used as chat service, the functionality that will be added to the Xbox One software will only allow users to see what their Discord friends are playing.

The function will be added to the console's existing account linking menu screen where users are already familiar with linking their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

According to Microsoft, the new feature will "make it easier to connect and see what friends are playing" across console and PC. Whether the company has plans to roll out more extensive Discord capabilities is unknown.
