Development studio Hello Games has released a first trailer for the upcoming Next update for No Man's Sky. The update releases next week.
According to a recent press release, the Next update will introduce various new major gameplay mechanics, including very long-awaited multiplayer, third person camera view and new underwater content.
In addition, the update will feature a new visual overhaul that features planetary rings and improved space visuals, dramatically improved planetary terrain generation, ground textures, water and clouds, and more details on ships, NPCs and buildings.
In Next players will also be able to build and own multiple bases anywhere on any planet without limits. The base building complexity and size limits have also been increased and hundreds of base parts have been added.
The new update is said to be "an incredibly important update" for the development studio. It also states that it is "another step in a longer journey", indicating the studio is still planning on adding more content in the future.
The No Man's Sky Next update releases on July 24, 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
