A more powerful Playstation 4 console may launch between June and October this year. It has been rumored for months that Sony is working on an updated version of its Playstation 4 console. A french distributer that also stocks products from Microsoft, Nintendo and, of course, Sony has released this information. The information was later debunked by the same distributer, reportedly because the company was reprimanded by Sony.
The reveal of the newer version of the console was made in the year financial reports of the french distributer, listing the pending release of the new version as the Playstation 4 Neo 4K. It is expected the new version will also have native support for Playstation VR. "The fiscal forecast for 2016/2017 should be pushed by the videogame industry, during the first semester, with the arrival of the PS4 Neo 4K, an evolution of Sony's PS4 console with new features and the release in October 2016 of the virtual reality handset the Sony VR." reads the financial report.
The console is expected to house updated components delivering the higher framerates and 4K resolution, both required for virtual reality gaming. An official announcement of Playstation 4 Neo 4K is expected at E3 2016.
