Sony has announced it acquired Spider-Man development studio Insomniac Games. The studio worked on the latest PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man game.

According to a recent announcement, the studio will be joining PlayStation's Worldwide Studios. The company notes it is "honored and thrilled to join forces with this legendary developer."

Insomniac Games worked on the PlayStation 4 exclusive title Spider-Man, which released on September 7, 2018. In the game players explore an open world modern-day New York City and have full access to Spider-Man's abilities, such as web slinging and wall crawling.
