Development studio The Farm 51 has released a story gameplay trailer for its upcoming sci-fi survival horror game titled Chernobylite. The game will release for PC and consoles.
The game is said to be mixing the free exploration of a 3D-scanned recreation of the real Chernobyl Exclusion Zone with challenging combat, unique crafting, and non-linear storytelling.
Players play as a physicist, one of the Chernobyl Power Plant's ex-employees, and investigate the mysterious disappearance of your beloved. Try to survive and reveal the contamination zone's twisted secrets. The military presence is not your only concern.
The game is said to allow players to craft their own gear to protect themselves from the military personnel and supernatural threats. Players can also team up or compete with other stalkers of the zone to survive.
The game's development studio is the same studio that worked on the shooter game World War 3, which is still in its early access development phase. That game currently has mixed user reviews on Steam.
The game is currently on Kickstarter to collect funds to complete development. At the time of writing, $29,732 of the $100,000 goal has been collected.
Chernobylite is scheduled to release this fall for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
