Development studio QLOC has released a beta version of the PC version of Injustice 2. The beta test allows players to try out 1 vs 1 online multiplayer functionality.
The PC version is not being developed by NetherRealm Studios, the development studio behind the original console release of the game, but by Polish video games porting studio QLOC.
It is not known why QLOC was assigned to develop the PC version, but it may be related to insufficient in-house PC development experience at NetherRealm Studios.
Generally speaking, Polish software developers receive lower wages than their Western European and American colleagues, making it a lucrative detail for triple A studios to get multiplatform releases out the door at low costs.
Early Steam user reviews indicate that the PC version of the game is able to maintain smooth and steady frame rates and that users have experienced very few bugs and crashes since its release last night.
The beta test is available starting November 6, 2017, and ends on November 10, 2017.
The PC version of Injustice 2 launches on November 14, 2017.
