A video tutorial of Battlefield V's upcoming battle royale mode Firestorm was leaked on YouTube earlier today. The video introduces the game's battle royale mode.
The leaked video tutorial shows many details of the battle royale mode that is expected to be revealed officially later this month. Yesterday a Reddit thread mentioned many of the same mechanics that are shown in the video.
As expected, the game mode is playable either solo, duo or with a squad. Each game begins by parachuting into the world. Landmarks can be rich in loot, but also full of danger. Objectives and safes are scattered throughout the map for players to interact with or capture.
Each weapon type uses its own ammunition type and you will only be able to carry a limited amount of weapons and ammunition. This means managing inventory is key to success. Players can scavenge for backpacks in order to expand this limit.
The video also confirms that players will be able to use various vehicles, including Helicopter, Schwimmwagon, Pick Up Truck, Sports Car, and Tractor. The first map that is available is set in Norway. Up to 64 players will be able to battle against each other.
Unlike the recently released Apex Legends, the game mode will not feature class specific benefits to ensure an even playing field. Downed players can still fire a sidearm while they wait for allies to revive them.
