Ubisoft has confirmed earlier today that it has delayed South Park: The Fractured But Whole for the second time. A new release date yet not been given.

When the game was first annoucned back in June 2016 the game was scheduled to launch in December that same year, but in September Ubisoft announced that it had to delay the game to "meets the high expectations of fans."

Ubisoft has not commented on why it decided to delay the game again but it is likely that additional developement time is required to deliver the quality that fans of the franchise are expecting.

The previous title, South Park: The Stick of Truth, also faced a number of delays before it was eventually released in March 2014.

After the events of South Park: The Stick of Truth, the children of South Park become role-playing superheroes. However, a falling-out over Cartman's planned film franchise splinters the boys into two groups, with some calling for a civil war to make their own franchise.

In the game players once again play as "The New Kid". New in South Park: The Fractured But Whole is the ability to change his gender to female if players wish to do so.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole will feature twelve superhero classes.
