Sega has registered two domain names for what appears to be a collection of remastered editions of the first two Shenmue games.
The company registered two separate domain names, ShenmueRemastered and ShenmueHD, last September and has reportedly been planning the announcement of the collection ever since.
The first Shenmue game launched on December 29th 1999 for the Dreamcast console and, even though the game was critically acclaimed, only saw 1.2 million copies being sold worldwide. The sequel to the game, Shenmue II, netted similar sales figures.
The soon to be announced HD collection will bundle remastered editions of the first two Shenmue games, though it is currently unknown what optimizations and changes the remastered editions will include.
The third game in the franchise, Shenmue III, is still in development after a successful Kickstarter campaign that was launched in June 2016. The third game is expected to release in December 2017, but a definitive release date has not yet been given.
The remastered collection is expected to be coming to the PC and PlayStation 4 later this year.
