Valve has announced that it has launched a beta version of SteamVR Home. The new platform is a major upgrade for the existing SteamVR platform.
With the new update Valve hopes to create a new home experience that is richer, more interactive, and more social than the existing launch area.
According to the patch notes, the new update will allow players to create more detailed home environments, with sound, animation, interaction, and social elements. This is largely provided by the Workshop integration through which players can submit and download new content for SteamVR Home.
The update will also makes it easier to connect with friends and other players as players are now able to invite friends to join them in their home space. Any environment can be opened up to friends or the public.
Once inside the home space players will be able to interact with each other with in-game voice chat functionality but also with several other tools that can be used to interact with the environment.
With the introduction of the new SteamVR update Valve has essentially rebranded its standalone Destinations virtual reality game that allowed players to visit player-created environments in virtual reality. Once SteamVR Home is out of beta the Destinations application will no longer be updated.
SteamVR Home Beta is now available for everyone who opts in to SteamVR Beta program.

This comment has been removed. Dont know about any solid limits, honestly its still very beta, when it was just added there where a bunch of public lobbies with like 12-18 ppl, most of those didnt stay up very long (when a whole bunch of ppl start messing around its quite common for the lobby to just crash, like i said, still very beta)
