Lizardcube has announced that it will be releasing Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap this spring. The game will be making its way to consoles first and a PC version will be released shortly after.
The game is the remake of the original 8-bit game Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap, which was released in 1989 for the popular Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear consoles.
Based on the original game, the memorable music of Shinichi Sakamoto, has been completely re-imagined by musician Michel Geyre, involving dozens of classical instrumentalists and different folk subsets.
The game also features brand new high definition graphics that brings a new atmosphere to the franchise. To highlight the new visuals and soundtrack the indie developer has also released a new video that showcases the game's extensive graphic and audio settings.
In August of last year we published an interview with the game's developers following the announcement of the game, which also gives an insight into the game's development process.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap launches on April 18th 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
