A new image published online by a Rockstar Games employee showcases a small portion of the Liberty City map from Grand Theft Auto IV in an updated engine.

The image was found by users of a Grand Theft Auto fansite along with several other images of a beta version of Grand Theft Auto V. The images have since been removed from the employee's profile page.

While it is unclear whether the image indicates that the developer may be working on downloadable content that has the player return to Liberty City, rumours of new singleplayer content for Grand Theft Auto V date back as early as December of last year. Earlier this year another rumour indicated that the developer may be working on a San Andreas map as part of the game's downloadable content.
