A new patent filed by Google at the United States Patent and Trademark Office indicates the company is working on a game controller. The controller may be part of Google's game streaming endeavors.

The patent that was filed on January 31, 2019, shows a game controller with a directional pad, two joysticks, and four action buttons.

In the middle a power button, a menu button and a select button is also available. A microphone button is available at the bottom of the controller between the two joysticks. Two shoulder triggers are located on the back of the device.

Along with a picture of the controller, the patent also shows network interface and client server schematics, including one that seems to depict cloud networking across various clients and servers on a remote platform.

The patent also includes various graphs describing how certain functionalities work. One of these graphs describes a "notification about a game/application not currently launched on the host device", further suggesting the controller is somehow part of Google's game streaming project.
