The technical beta was released because the development team wants to collect bugs and feedback on a wide range of different machines now that it has spent a significant amount of time improving and changing Valve's Source engine.

The team urges those who are looking for the complete Xen experience to wait because "it won't be long" until all chapters will be available.

The technical beta is available by selecting the public beta branch in the game's properties window accessible via the Steam library list.
