Nintendo has released the launch trailer for Super Mario Run. The game launched on December 15th 2016 for iOS devices and is coming to Android devices next year.

In the game Mario will move on its own, allowing players to play the mobile game with one hand. Players are only able to control when Mario jumps to avoid obstacles or to reach platforms.

The new trailer gives players an insight in how to play the game. Players will be able to pull off trickjumps by pressing the touchscreen at the right time. The game also features special action blocks that decide what type of movement Mario makes when he walks over them.

Super Mario Run will include a Toad Rally mode, in which players are able to challenge their friend's runs by collecting more coins than their opponent, and a Kingdom Builder mode, which allows players to purchase additional content with collected coins.

The iOS version of the game will be available for purchase for €9.99 or $9.99 USD and, according to Nintendo, will not contain microtransactions. A trial version will also be available in which players can "enjoy a portion of the game" for free.

Super Mario Run is the first game that Nintendo will be releasing on smartphone and tablet devices.
