EA Games has released the first trailer for the next Battlefield game Battlefield V. The game will take players to World War Two.
The new trailer is mostly pre-rendered imagery blended together with various gameplay scenes in post-production. As such, the trailer itself is not an accurate depiction of the game.
As expected, Battlefield V will take players back to World War Two following the success of Battlefield 1, which focused exclusively on World War One.
Players will "lead their squad to victory" with new ways to turn the battlefield to their advantage, such as building fortifications, repair war-torn structures, or tow stationary weapons.
They will also be able to customize their company of soldiers, weapons, and vehicles in both online and co-op multiplayer modes.
Perhaps most surprising is EA Games' decision to steer away from the season pass system, which has been part of the Battlefield franchise for years. The system resulted in a heavily segmented playerbase where friends would only be able to play on maps they both had access to.
Battlefield V will release on October 19, 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
