Steam has officially started supporting Bitcoin as payment option. Valve, the company behind Steam, will partner with the third-party payment processor Bitpay to bring the option to gamers worldwide. The payment processor has announced it's partnership with the company on their blog earlier today. Earlier this week we received word that Valve was working on bringing Bitcoin support to its Steam platform.
"With Steam's bitcoin integration, customers will be able to use any bitcoin wallet to scan, pay, and get back to gaming in seconds without having to provide sensitive financial information." reads the statement. Game developers will not have to take additional steps in order to activate Bitcoin as payment option, the set purchase price will be converted automatically.
